Description

Residencies of up to six months in Berlin’s Moabit neighbourhood invite artist collectives to work in and with local communities facing urgent sustainability challenges. Neighbourhood residents and artists in residency will work together to define the most relevant sustainability topics and challenges, which might include community cohesion and integration, extreme weather events, or climate change mitigation. The residency programme aims to reach the neighbourhood’s most vulnerable populations and to develop prototype interventions that can be continued by the ZK/U community after the residencies conclude. These prototypes will then be evaluated, iterated, and tested for maximum impact, efficacy, and generalizability beyond Berlin.

Hypothesis

Artist-community collaborations can work to address urgent local sustainability challenges for vulnerable populations, including: community cohesion and integration, extreme weather events, and climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Indicators
